Welcome!  We are located in the Northeast corner of Oregon with breathtaking scenery and all types of activities year round.  Excellent hunting, skiing, camping, and sight seeing!  The spectacular Wallowa Mountains contains lots of adventures with it's many lakes, beautiful forest, and all types of wildlife.  Are you a hunter, or just enjoy the views of nature?  Wallowa County has an abundance of wildlife from cougars, rocky mountain elk, blue grouse, bear, rocky mountain bighorn sheep, mountain goats, mule deer, white tail deer, bald eagles, hawks...  If you love hiking we have many excellent locations.  Fishing well this is the place.  You can find many spots all over the county to sink a line. We are surrounded by the Grande Ronde River, Snake River, Minam River, Wallowa River, Wallowa Lake... just to name a few.  Short day trips are Hells Canyon National Recreational area, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Hatpoint, or to Wallowa Lake and take the tram up to Mt. Howard.  Joseph is known for our bronze sculptures.  The local foundries have tours and explain all the steps involved from the artists clay sculpture to the finished bronze piece.  Whether it is spending the day shopping in the stores downtown, dining in our local restaurants, or just enjoying the local scenery; Joseph is the place to be.
